Privacy Policy
Last updated October 20, 2026
In short: we collect only what we need to run Worship Scroll for your church. Your songs and set lists are private to your church's account. We never sell your information or show ads. Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see card numbers.
Who we are
Worship Scroll ("we", "us") is a web app that helps worship teams display lyrics and chords, run congregation slides and send sound requests. This policy explains what information we collect through worshipscrollapp.com and the Worship Scroll app, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email worshipscroll@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details: the email address and password used to create your church's account. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form by our sign-in provider; we can't read them.
- Your church's content: songs, lyrics and chords, set lists and arrangements, notes, song history, your church name and CCLI licence number if you enter them, and the names you add to sound requests (for example "Bass · Mike").
- Live activity: while a set is playing, the current slide and sound requests are shared between your church's devices so they stay in step. Only the latest slide is kept, and it is replaced as you play. Sound requests are stored with your church's account and hidden after a few hours.
- Subscription details: your plan (monthly or yearly), its status and renewal date, and the customer and subscription IDs Stripe gives us. Card numbers and bank details go directly to Stripe and never reach us.
- Scanning: when you scan a chord chart, the picture is sent to Anthropic's Claude service to read the song and send back the text. We don't keep the picture. We record the date and number of pages scanned so we can apply the monthly scanning limit.
- Technical information: like any website, our hosting provider receives basic information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Information stored on your device
So the app keeps working if your church's internet drops, a copy of your songs, set list and settings is saved in your browser's storage on each device you sign in on. Personal display choices, like text size, scroll speed and view, are saved on that device only. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. To remove the saved copy from a device, clear the browser's data for worshipscrollapp.com on that device.
How we use it
- To provide the app: show your songs, keep your devices in sync and run features you choose, like scanning and slides.
- To manage your free trial and subscription.
- To answer your emails and send important messages about your account, such as password resets or changes to these policies.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Worship Scroll. They process information only on our behalf:
- Supabase: database and sign-in.
- Cloudflare: website hosting and delivery.
- Stripe: payments and subscription management.
- Anthropic: reading scanned chord charts.
- Google: web fonts, and email if you write to us.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Who can see your church's content
Only people signed in to your church's account. Each church's songs, sets and history are kept separate, and the database refuses requests from any other account. Because a church usually shares one login across its team, anyone you give the password to can see and change your church's content, so share it only with people you trust, and change it when someone leaves the team.
How long we keep it
We keep your church's content while your account exists, so it's still there if your subscription lapses and you come back. You can delete songs and history yourself at any time. To delete your whole account and its content, email us from the account's email address and we'll do it within 30 days. Payment records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about how we handle it, by emailing worshipscroll@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and the database only lets each church reach its own content. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password for your church's account.
Children
Worship Scroll is meant to be set up by adults on behalf of a church. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and let account holders know by email or in the app.
